Albert King Marker

Marker commemorates Albert King, who was born in 1923 in Indianola, Miss., but lived and worked in Arkansas in the towns of Forrest City and Osceola. For many years he played his guitar in clubs in Osceola before gaining worldwide acclaim. He also had a great influence on many other guitarists including Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Robbie Robertson and Arkansas blues guitarist Frank “Son” Seals. King died in 1992 and is buried at Paradise Gardens near West Memphis. Marker is part of Osceola's "Cotton Highway" series.
